Tours of the White House — which had been canceled since the government sequester in March — resumed last week, to the delight of visitors to our nation's capital. And yesterday, one lucky group had an extra special visit: They were greeted by the president and the first lady themselves.
Even better, though: the Obamas' dogs, Bo and Sunny, were also on hand to say hello.
In a short video posted on Mrs. Obama's Instagram account, we see the first couple surprising their visitors. "You just happened to come on the day that I was hangin' out here," the president tells two young women. "I don't always do this."
Sunny, who was making her first appearance at a White House meet-and-greet, quickly adapted to her role as a public figure: The video ends with two well-dressed young men happlily obliging her with a belly rub. Bo, on the other hand, is a seasoned pro when it comes to sitting patiently for guests.
It's a hard day's work being a First Dog.
